WORK to make the best decisions for our town and all of its citizens

Why I Am Running

The simple answer is that I love the Town of Lawrence and its citizens. I am deeply invested in the decisions that are being made that impact the residents. I have attended nearly every Town Board and Planning & Zoning meeting over the past several years, so I am well-informed and ready to get to work. Lawrence is a family-friendly town that continues to grow quickly, and I want to help steer that growth. Lawrence has a constant need for new residential areas, which is evident by the new construction taking place on the east and the west sides of I-41. With the new interchange coming, this will present challenges and opportunities for the town to thrive. In addition, there is a lot of undeveloped land within the town that is ripe for commercial businesses. These should be businesses that will serve the residents and enhance their lives while continuing to maintain the rural atmosphere that we all enjoy. Lawrence has many great things to offer not only to the people who live here, but to the people who visit as well. I want to help keep our town a great place to live for all current and future residents.

About Me

My husband Chris and I were both raised in the area and once we were married and ready to raise our family, we knew we wanted to make our home here. We were attracted to Lawrence because of its rural charm and close proximity to Green Bay. We have lived in Lawrence 17 years and raised our 4 boys here. Knowing this area has a lot to offer, we also chose to open our small manufacturing business, Forte Composites Inc., in the West De Pere business park. We are proud to have been in operation for over 23 years. Before becoming a stay at home mom, I earned degrees in advertising and psychology from UW-Madison and worked in advertising as a Media Director for several years. As our boys have gotten older, I have transitioned into more of a hands-on role in our business, working together with Chris and our employees in whatever areas need attention.

Community

Community service has always been important to me. Chris and I both have volunteered a lot of hours to St. Vincent Hospital, and I was co-chair for a major fundraising event for their Heart Center for a decade. We have also collected food for Paul's Pantry. We have volunteered many hours at our children's schools and worked with engaged couples through our parish as they prepared for marriage. The volunteer hours most dear to my heart, were working with Parkinson's patients through a program called Rock Steady Boxing. With our 4 boys all away at college, we are officially empty nesters and I'm ready to give more to my local community and serve the citizens of our great town by being a part of the Town Board of Supervisors.

Growth

Being a resident of Lawrence for quite some time, I have seen its exponential growth over the years. What was once a quiet town covered in farmland is now considered home for many families. Being a parent, I understand why families are attracted to this area – the rural character, the school district, the low crime rate and more. It seems every time you turn around, there is a group of new homes being built. I am passionate about the future growth of Lawrence and the direction it is heading, while also preserving what has brought people to this area. I want to help keep Lawrence a family-friendly town that continues to draw people in, whether it be to live, work or play. The current Comprehensive Plan revision is a great start to having more resident input into the future of the town. I have recently joined as a part of the Citizen Advisory Committee as I believe it's important for leadership to listen to the voices of those who live here.
